open sunday - back to school edition - epilogue

For this week's Feature Friday, I thought of bringing you the mood of the last weekend's event. Uman Shop had yet another Open Sunday gathering and this time it was more focused on the artistic side. There was a train graffiti sketch contest, stickers workshop and I had to do a workshop for customising shoes. I didn't have time to finish mine because soon enough the kids took over. But in the end it was a great day. Here are some photos to help you paint the picture.

And here are some of the kids' customisations:

I promise I'll get my shoe back and finish it. I'll post the result so keep an eye on my blog and on my Facebook Page.

vice feature

It's "Feature Friday" time, and today it's coming from Vice. You probably know the magazine but they also have a very active website, with loads of articles and stories. I was contacted for a feature article by them and it was an amazing opportunity and honour, like a "level-up" kind of moment.

The concept was really nice, they look into the artists' sketchbooks and kind of, get in that creative process. And I thought it was different since I haven't really posted my sketches anywhere until just recently. So now you have the chance to see some of my past and present projects from the beginnings.

Here's a short preview, click on the picture to see the entire article and sketch gallery.

So thank you Vice Romania and Sorina for writing the awesome story and for including me in the project!

And you can always find some of my "in progress" photos on my Facebook Page.

feature friday - 21 art

There are not too many times that I get to talk about a specific thing that I do. That's why when I got the opportunity to have an article about my handmade and crafting side, I jumped right in. So I talked about when, where and mostly why I started sewing, why I appreciate this kind of art or technical details about my creations. But, if you don't already know the language, you can always translate the text and see for yourself, how my mind works.

So thank you 21 Art for the feature and Ramona for the article, contacting me and being so nice!
Hope you enjoy it as well.

and the pony goes round

This is one of my recent projects. I got this commission for some custom shoes with an old Russian cartoon (ПОНИ БЕГАЕТ ПО КРУГУ). I loved the animation, it reminded me of my younger days and the cartoons and comic books I had back then.

Pony Story custom shoes | acrylic & paint marker on eco-leather shoes

| theme: russian cartoon, storyline, characters
| colour scheme: very colourful
It was a bit of a time crisis with these shoes, but given all that, I think they came out really nice. And I like the fact that with each new project and each new customisation, I'm improving and learning more and new things and tricks, so it's all for the better.

If you want to check up with what I'm doing day by day and in the progress updates, you can always check out my Facebook Page.
