school choir program feature

It's Friday so that means it's time for some features. Today is about music, one my old watercolour pieces got featured on a school choir program pamphlet and it came all the way from the US. This is what I love about the internet, you get connected with the entire world. So thanks for finding me!
Here are a few pages from the program.

snowrider

This is a more recent portrait, a gift from a friend to a guy who loves winter, snowboarding and his two dogs. I enjoyed playing with all the colours and textures. And even though winter is not my favourite season, it's really fun to illustrate it.

the colourful girl

And finally, the last piece I made during the holiday season, part of the creatures with features project. But meanwhile, I've made many more others, so expect another wave soon.

The colourful girl portrait - watercolour on wood plate | ~25x15 cm

This is a portrait of a lovely, colourful lady, who likes crafty hand-made accessories and appreciates art. I hope I captured her essence well.

from paris with love

With this portrait, I think I started a new direction for this project, that being including more background to the illustrations. And I think it helps bring out the mood and atmosphere to each portrait. Today's portrait is about a romance that built up in the city of love and I was hoping to capture that.

the artists

This illustration was really special, it portrays two wonderful people that live, breathe and create art. I also got to hear their love story beginnings and I have to say, it's like a scene from a romantic movie that you would say could never happen in real life. But it did and here's a celebration of that moment.

| theme: paintings, graffiti, theatre, art supplies, economy book, coffee, letter "K"

little thomas

A few more portraits to go from this holiday season, I really wasn't kidding when I said I had to paint quite a few. So here's another family portrait, again one that flew over seas, to a cute boy and his train and some winter-loving parents. You can check out this entire portrait project here.

the green bat

A new family portrait, this time it went green. A happy family that just welcomed this cute little creature who melted my heart with his cute bat hat. So I had a lot of fun with this illustration. Another successful day in my creature-making laboratory.

fade magazine feature

It's been a while since I've posted into the Feature Friday section, but I'm making a comeback in style. I had the honour of being featured in the first issue of FADE Magazine, a new look at young and up-coming designers and artists. I've also been interviewed and I really enjoyed all the not-so-common questions. I also love the choice for the layout.

You can check out the interview here, pages 38-43.

Thank you so much for the opportunity!

a colourful family portrait

Spring starts off with a new family portrait. I really loved this one, the family was so colourful and fun, it was a joy illustrating them. Each character had its own unique personality, with different passions and hobbies but when they come together all the puzzle pieces seem to fit. Thank you Anca for this opportunity!
