go back to school

Sometimes I realise I'm quite dusty when I find myself saying something like "we didn't have these many stuff when we were growing up". And it's true, we didn't. I wish we did. I remember all the standard one-colour notebooks with simple labels and how much we tried to pimp them up with stickers and drawings.

Now, they come like this. And somehow, I got the be a part of it. Along with Uman Shop we made these cool notebooks/ sketchbooks for you creative critters and they have an entire campaign for them on their facebook page and website, so be sure to check that out and get yours now. arz - shelby's dresses

At last, the final dress design for ARZ's main character, Shelby Lochart. For the other two designs and other characters' costumes, check this out.

For this design, I've had something majestic and imperial in mind. Keeping some of the sexiness, but I wanted something almost regal. And I've always wanted a dress with a cape-like feel. I kept the greens to contrast her red hair, added a hard lacquer belt and metallic golden shoes. I'm really hoping some of these dresses make it into fabric and someday, who knows, maybe on a movie screen.

And here are all the sketches I've made with all the my ideas for futuristic dress designs...

arz - shelby's dresses

Time for another sci-fi costume design, the part two out of three from the futuristic dresses series. See the first one here. And for all the designs from this project click here.

For this design I thought about a mix between hard and soft textures, metallics and flowy silk, or some synthetic futuristic fabric that resembles it. I used a lot of greens to contrast Shelby's red locks. I also played with her hairstyle a bit.
