maradona squadz - print design

Well, I guess we can all agree that whatever plans we make this year, are not gonna go 'as planned'. We'll just have to wing it. I've had a few old posts lined up, ones that I said I'll post before everything else, so I can be on track with everything, but new projects I've been working on are finally up, campaigns are rolling out, and I have to keep up. Updates are always fresh on my Insta stories though, so maybe check me out there *wink wink*. Enough said, here's one such new project that I've been waiting to tell you about since we've started working on it months back. But it just launched and I'm super excited.

A little backstory: I've been asked to create a few designs for Squadz, a new sports-themed on-line shop. The designs were, of course, all sports-inspired. They came up with the ideas and I've put them into practice. I'm super thankful that the guys really gave me creative freedom, to draw these in my own style and I have to say, I am happy to see more artistic sports-themed merch out there (not to brag or anything, 'cause I'm not the only illustrator they've collaborated with, but from what I've seen, everything looks really cool). So you might want to check their shop out. I myself got some goodies from them, and the fabric, print, textures are all top-notch.

Oh, and with this project, I also had the opportunity to practice my digital-drawing skills on my little tablet. I've learnt so much along the way and I can't wait to share more artwork with ya'll.

So let's get play ball... the first design from this series is the football (or soccer) legend himself, mister Maradona. It still feels eerie that he passed away not long ago after I finished this illustration, but I'm glad I had the chance to draw his portrait in my own way.
