carol pale lager - beer label graphics

The second label I illustrated and designed for Carol Beer. This time, we changed up the style a bit, we made it more complex, by having it fully hand-painted. Still keeping the character's style though and drawing inspiration from the beer's style and ingredients. This time, we took the label to the famous American lands, but if you look closely, you can find a hint of Bavarian heritage in there too.

I loved using a palette of colours and sticking to it. And loved working the watercolour layers to build up shades of colours and contouring everything with white outlines. And juggling with flat shapes and more three-dimensional ones. Quite a lot of things but somehow everything managed to come together nicely. Definitely a new challenge for me, and I'm proud of the result. Hope you like it too.
