fibonacci spiral - tattoo design

When I was in middle school I used to be really good at math, I especially loved calculus and solving long, long equations. But I wasn't all that great with geometry. I don't know why, since the visual realm is basically my form of learning. Then in high-school I don't know what the heck happened, but it was like I dumbed down and forgot all the mathematics I've learnt up until then. I was studying different fields, and they cut math all together from the curriculum, replacing it with some classes, that I am super grateful for today by the way, like colour chemistry and colour psychology and art techniques throughout history. But I missed pushing my brain with calculus. And let me tell you something, you will need math for the rest of your life. No matter what everyone says. For your bills, your financing, physics, astronomy, the way the world works, everything is basically math. But no worries, I didn't get stupid, in university, I picked up on math again, when we studied anatomy and technical drawing, and started reading about astronomy and quantic physics, that really gave my brain cells a wake up call.

Anyway, as I said, I wasn't all that great with geometrical space and ironically enough, geometry is now something that I love mixing into my art. And space, well... let's not get into that right now.
But oh boy, is it a process. Since I studied a more "artsy" way of painting, our professors wouldn't allow us to use rulers or erasers, they said we needed to let our creativity flow, and that we had to incorporate mistakes in creating something new, unique. I'm not saying that is wrong, but my gosh, did I spend a lot of hours getting my lines straight from that stupid cube in the still life drawings classes. I hated those.

(that was a very long intro)

So, when I had the challenge to make a Fibonacci Spiral tattoo design, I had to squeeze out all that knowledge about math, geometry and technical drawing right back out again. It may seem simple, but trust me, it took quite some time to draw properly. By hand, may I add.
