25 years of adr vest - beer label designs

Cheers to 25 Years! I am so happy to be the one designing this anniversary beer label for ADR Vest. 

I also might have helped with the anniversary logo a bit too. Just a lil' bit.

Some projects just hit differently, and this was a cheers-worthy moment! When ADR Vest, the association that promotes and helps develop the Western region (Banat) of Romania, reached their 25-year milestone, they decided to celebrate in style: with a special anniversary beer. And you know me. and my history with beers... I illustrated a lot of labels, not drink them or something like that. Alright, maybe a couple. Anywaaay... here's a quick look-through, if you're interested.

ADR Vest’s branding gave me the starting point and a strong color palette to work with. I wanted to create something that not only honored their identity but also brought a fresh, artistic spin to their special moment. We ended up with three designs, I don't know which ones got chosen in the end, but you'd better believe I put them all into some very nice mock-ups for y'all.

First up, I explored abstract art—something I hadn’t done in a while but absolutely loved diving back into. Using ADR Vest’s signature colors and shapes inspired by their logo, I created two dynamic, modern designs that fitted perfectly with the idea of movement and progression, but also the four regions of the west. These reminded me how much I missed creating abstract pieces—letting colors and forms do all the storytelling without being too literal. There’s something freeing about it, and I might just have to do more of it soon!

For the third design, I took a different approach: a map-style illustration featuring the four counties that make up the western region of Romania—Timiș, Arad, Hunedoara, and Caraș-Severin. But it wasn’t just a map; I added iconic landmarks from each county to make it more personal and celebratory. Think of it as a little visual journey through the heart of ADR Vest’s work.

Seeing these designs take shape was fulfilling. There’s just something special about knowing people will be holding (and sipping from) something you created. And if my designs made even one person pause, appreciate the artwork, and look for the smallest details or the hidden meaning behind the labels, then my job here is done.

So here’s to 25 years of ADR Vest, to the beauty of Western Romania, and to the forever joy and gratefulness of creating new, fun and interesting art.
