planeta curcubeu - thank you card design

Today's post is a Cosmic Thank You, my new card design for Planeta Curcubeu.

If there’s one thing I love (besides watercolor, brushes and pens, and the smell of fresh paper), it’s space. But you probably already know that. So, when Odette from Planeta Curcubeu—one of my all-time favorite clients—asked me to design a new "Thank You" card for her brand and gave me full creative freedom, my brain immediately went into orbit. I mean, her brand name literally translates to "Rainbow Planet." How could I not go with a space theme? It was a no-brainer. My mission was simple: to design a Thank You Card that’s out of this world. No biggie.

Planeta Curcubeu is all about vibrant, dreamy, one-of-a-kind polymer clay and epoxy jewelry. It’s a place where color reigns supreme, and every piece feels like a little burst of happiness. I knew the Thank You card had to capture that same energy—playful, magical, and full of personality. So, I set my sights on the stars and got to work. The design? A cosmic wonderland with colourful planets, bright stars, and a neon galactic background. The kind of card that makes you want to frame it instead of tossing it in the recycling bin, which, let’s be real, is the ultimate compliment and I strongly encourage you to do, it doubles as a wonderful bookmark.

The message behind it just had to be stellar. Something along the lines of "You’re a star—thank you for making my galaxy brighter!" Because let’s face it, every Planeta Curcubeu customer is basically a celestial being supporting an artist’s cosmic dreams. And you know I had to make a pastel version too. Because, why not?

Getting to create something from scratch with zero limitations is like being handed the keys to a spaceship and told, “Go wherever you want.” It’s rare, it’s exciting, and it makes the whole process even more fun. And working with Odette is always a joy because she gets it—the love for color, the attention to detail, and the magic that happens when branding and art collide. This Thank You card was just another reminder of why I love what I do: turning ideas into little pieces of art that people connect with.

I've also made some new accessory cards for one of her recent collabs.
Here are a few other things that I designed for her, if you're interested.
Noooow Liftoff!
