the magic forest

 I know I say this about all the different-kind of portraits that I make, but I really loved working on this one. I almost felt bad giving it away because it somehow felt so personal creating it. I need to make my top favourites go from ten to maybe twenty or fifty because I have so many I've grown to love over the years and remember fondly. This one will definitely go in that top of favourites. From the concept and the story to the colours and how they pop, from the warmth and playfulness of the characters against the dark, but magical forest trees in the background... I love it all. I'm so, so glad I got to make this painting, I hope the kid who received it loved it just as much.
