I recently had the joy of working on a very special project—designing an invitation and event decor for the baptism of a sweet and awesome baby girl, Anastasia. This project was close to my heart since it was about some very special people in my life and their new journey together as a family. 

Anastasia is a name that holds powerful symbolism. Derived from the Greek word anástasis, meaning “resurrection,” it represents rebirth and new beginnings. This symbolism is carried out beautifully with her new journey into this world. 

The theme for Anastasia’s baptism was jungle-inspired, which of course led me to draw lush plants, vines, exotic flowers, earthy tones, and the vibrant energy of nature. It felt like the perfect symbol for this event—a moment where a new life is celebrated, and the family gathers to nurture and protect their little one as she grows.

One of the most personal touches I added to the invitation was drawing digitally on top of a photo of baby Anastasia herself. Instead of focusing purely on the jungle, I wanted the centrepiece to be Anastasia, surrounded by the natural elements that symbolized the protection and love around her. Drawing digitally on top of a photograph was quite a new medium for me, but I loved this new challenge.

The invitation design reflects this idea of life and growth but this design was just the beginning. I also created a cohesive design for the Welcome sign, the Bar area and the Photo Booth, ensuring that the theme carried through every aspect of the celebration. Each of these elements featured the same earthy, natural palette and jungle-inspired graphics, tying everything together into one seamless experience for the guests.

Designing "the vibe" for baby Anastasia’s first big party was a truly meaningful and fun experience. It wasn’t just about creating something visually pleasing—it was about translating the beauty of nature, the symbolism of her name, and the warmth of her family’s love into an invitation and event design that would set the tone for this special day, and hopefully, for her fierce nature as she grows up to be the queen of this concrete jungle.
