Picture this: a football, but make it artsy. Not just any football—one infused with the passion of the game, the spirit of a city, and a dash of my creative madness. That’s exactly what happened when I teamed up with our local football team, Poli Timișoara, to craft a one-of-a-kind, hand-customized football. And no, this wasn’t just about aesthetics—this ball has a mission. More on that in a bit.

When the guys from the club approached me with the idea, it felt like the perfect match (pun fully intended). The game plan was to design a football that blends elements of the sport with the essence of our beloved city, all while staying true to the team’s colour palette. Challenge accepted. Timișoara, a city rich in history, culture, and relentless football fans, deserved to be celebrated with every brushstroke. I set out to create something that would embody not just the energy of the sport, but also the character of the city itself. From iconic landmarks to subtle nods to our football legacy, every inch of the ball tells a story.

First, I digitally sketched out ideas, ensuring that every detail would flow seamlessly on the curved surface of the ball (let me tell you, painting on a spherical object is a whole different kind of challenge—shoutout to my steady hand, bucket-load of patience and sheer determination). It was one of those projects where you have to trust the process, until the very end. But after many meltdowns and not-giving-ups, I made it work.

And as I've mentioned in the beginning, this isn’t just a showpiece—it’s got heart. The customised ball will be used to raise money and awareness for people in need, proving that football isn’t just about scoring goals on the field; it’s about making an impact beyond it. There’s something incredibly rewarding about seeing art and sport collide for a greater cause. Whether it’s inspiring young players, rallying fans, or contributing to the community, this project reinforced what I love most about custom work: it tells a story, connects people, and it makes a difference.
