the astrohelmet variants - print designs

Keeping the space tone of my latest posts, I thought I'd showcase today the other variants of the AstroHelmet. Or The AstroHelmet — The Multiverse of Styles, if we were to make it into a book/ movie title. But I digress...

You know me and my uncertainty to commit to just one concept, so I need to give you options. This design is no different. My process starts with the sketch, the outline, then "make it bolder", then "let's deconstruct it". So that's the process of getting multiple options of the same designs. Because restraint is overrated. Now you know.

So let's embark on this journey through the Dushkyverse of styles, shall we? Buckle-up!

First stop: the Linear Style — bold outlines, clean forms, pure graphic satisfaction. It’s the style that makes everything look like it could live happily ever after as a logo or on a t-shirt.

Then we move on to my classic Geometric Style — the deconstructed one. You know the drill: shapes, angles, and visual puzzles that break down yet somehow still form a perfectly expressive helmet.

And since sometimes, some people get the best of both worlds, I made a third version — a mix of both. Sharp geometry meets clean linework. It’s balanced, bold, and exactly how I imagine astronauts would look if NASA hired graphic designers (I'm totally open to freelance work, NASA, call me).

But wait, there’s more. I couldn’t help myself and made a bonus fourth version, just for fun. I played around with colours, lighting, and textures to give it a bit of depth, dropped the outlines completely (I know... shocking), and the result is unexpectedly cool (but not according to my Instagram algorithm, where only my mom and 3 friends think so).

So here they are: four helmets, one mission — to explore all the artistic galaxies inside my head.

Sometimes, I just like to see how far a concept can stretch before it becomes something else entirely. And this project was a perfect playground for that — simple shapes, bold ideas, and a lot of curiosity.
