I know it's not father's day but if it were, this would be the perfect illustration for it. Here's a look at today's Different-kind-of-Portrait: a hard-working man, a proud father, a cute boy, and his favorite toy in the background, his father's favorite toy. I'm telling you, painting cars is a-different-kind-of portrait in itself. And don't even get me started on buildings. I spend so much time illustrating them and I still don't get them right. Not once, not ever. And this painting has them both. But let's call it "close enough". In the end, these portraits are more symbolistic rather than realistic, at least that's how they started. Hope this was a great gift and I also hope it will be a good memory in time.
