the falling in love again

 I've just realised that the different-kind-of-portrait of the day, alongside the last one and the two coming up next, represent each of the four seasons. The previous one was clearly a summer vibe kind of portrait and today's painting has a fall theme to it. It was so fun painting all the leaves in the fall, earthy-toned palette, and I don't think it shows up in the scan and photos, but some of the leaves are copper and golden. I used my new and awesome metallic watercolours for that, so I'm super stoked that I had the opportunity to do so. If I remember correctly, the couple was celebrating an anniversary and this illustration was a gift for that special occasion from their daughter.
