renaissance fashion

Back to the era where corsets and large dresses where still in style and ankles were a taboo.

These are some fashion compositions I created some time ago, having the Renaissance era as a starting point. For the first three illustrations I used as reference the amazing Self portrait with gloves by Dürer. The idea was to recreate the outfits from that period having as base a famous painting, and I thought, why not choose a male outfit and turn it into something feminine, just to make things interesting. And I chose this one because there are a lot of wonderful, very modern features in Dürer's clothing from that painting.

The illustrations below were inspired by Queen Elizabeth and the very well known Elizabeth - The Golden Age movie, which was awarded for the impeccable and wonderful costume's design. I had very little to interfere with the design of the outfits, just because they were so complex and remarkable already.
